Bringing
Hunger Solutions
to Ethiopia
Recently Stan Doerr, President/CEO and Tim Watkins, ECHO's Nursery Manager traveled to Ethiopia to review the final step of the first phase of the ECHO/Project Mercy Partnership. The purpose of this trip was to plan the planting out of grafted trees and plants that have the greatest potential for success including varieties of Avocado, Mangos, Olives, Canistell, Custer Apple, Star Fruit and several other tropical and temperate species.
During this trip contacts were made with the University of Ethiopia for a Moringa project in southern Ethiopia and a project near the eastern rim of the Rift Valley.
Major funding for this partnership came from the Sanibel Community Church and other cooperating churches and friends of ECHO.
The mission of ECHO continues to expand through the faithful and generous giving of our donors. Individuals who include ECHO in their charitable giving through cash gifts, transferring of IRA's and appreciated stock. Many are providing for the future of the ECHO mission through Planned Giving while enjoying years of fulfilling retirement from gift annuities, charitable trusts and other Life Income gift plans.
